Celebrate 20 years of Read Across America Day

March 2, 2017 marks 20 years of NEA’s Read Across America day. It is a day for educators and students to celebrate the love of reading (and their love of the world’s most famous cat).

Oh, The Materials You Could Read!

March 2nd is approaching with speed
Take a moment and think of all the books you could read!
Read Across America Day is celebrated that day,
So use your accessible materials and just read away!

There are wonderful lessons online
and a new 2017 activity guide.
Hurry! Come quick and share it class-wide!

You might start out quite simple
and have a book read aloud.
You’ll be surprised of what technology can do;
Prepare to be wowed!

Be traditional and read The Cat in the Hat!
Or read something new like these books, recommended.
You’ll find the “purrfect” book…
…no pun intended.
