How do you document a print disability?

Blindness, Visual Disability or Physical Disability

A student who has a print disability in one of the above categories, typically, has documentation of the disability in the school record. These students do not require additional documentation in their school record.

Reading Disability resulting from organic dysfunction

A student who has a print disability in the above category must have documentation from a medical doctor who may consult with colleagues in associated disciplines, such as an educator.

How does your school division address a reading disability resulting from organic dysfunction?

Each school or school division determines what forms are needed to document a reading disability resulting from organic dysfunction. For more information, contact your special education department or AIM-VA.
